Report that WestAfrica24.com can authoritatively confirm has it that a total of twelve of the many fans of the the late Dj Arafat who took part in removing the late singer’s casket from the tomb have been arrested by the authorities.
The Prefect of Department of Abidjan, Vincent Toh Bi Irie announced the arrest of these 12 overzealous via a press release he made. He was quoted as saying;
twelve people in connection with these events have been mushonga “
Mr. Vincent also revealed that investigations are still ongoing so as to bring all those who are involved in the barbaric act are brought to book and punished accordingly as exhumation is illegal in Ivory Coast unless being backed by a court order.
According to him, the public prosecutor of the country is looking forward to having the culprits punished severely as as to serve as a deterrent for the rest.
DJ Arafat had his tomb desecrated by his fans shortly after he was buried in the popular Williamsville cemetary and the family also gone and police had to use teargas and earning shots to disperse the crowd. The body was re-buried by the authorities shortly after the crowd dispersed.
