Four persons have been arrested by the the Techiman Divisional Police as they were suspected of dealing in cocaine and Indian hemp in the Bono East Region.
Briefing Joy News’ Anass Sabit Divisional Police commander C/Supt Bossman Ohene-Boadi said, on Thursday, the police through intelligence gathering, received the information that some people were dealing in illicit drugs at a hideout in the community.
The police patrol team moved in and arrested Samuel Kwadwo Adu who is popularly known as Alhaji Bello. He later led the police to arrest the other three suspects.
Alhaji Bello who is on remand after being arrested a few weeks back disclosed that he wanted to sell the leftover goods at his disposal in order pay his supplier Fuseini Mumuni Rasheed, a resident of Asawase in the Ashanti region.
C/Supt Ohene-Boadi disclosed that a search conducted on the suspects revealed over 450 wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine and India hemp.
The four, Fuseini Mumuni Rasheed, Samuel Kwadwo Adu aka Alhaji Bello, Nimo Amos and Ilyasu Shaibu are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
They are yet to be arraigned before court and charged accordingly.
