The Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Council has called on the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to, as a matter of urgency; investigate the numerous administrative and regional boundary disputes between the Greater Accra and Central Regions.
Speaking in an interview with WestAfrica24.com at Amanfro, the Divisional Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, claimed that the original boundary of Amanfro begins from Odupon Ofaakor.
He stated that each time there is a new government, they approach the sector Minister with documents, but the authorities usually turn a deaf ear to the issue.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, maintained that the boundary dispute has become a source of conflict between the two Regions.
He noted that Amanfro belongs to the Greater Accra Region and wonders why communities belonging to the stool will register their land title with the Central Region.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, therefore appealed to the government to determine the boundaries between the two Regions to solve the problem once and for all.
The Chief also expressed his displeasure with the neglect of the Amanfro community; leaving them without proper road network and other social amenities.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, explained that the community lacks proper road network, gutters and storm drains that would carry water away from the areas beyond Top Town and American Farm to facilitate smooth travel between Kasoa and Accra.
He said the town had expanded within a short period and, therefore, needed a motorable road to match its growth.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, said a good road network would step up commercial activities in the area and through that enable the people to contribute meaningfully to national development.
