The Tema West National Democratic Congress, NDC, Parliamentary candidate elect, Dr. Raphael Kwesi Sarpong Tufour has promised to tap into the rich experience of the NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in his campaign towards annexing the Tema West seat.
The 36 years old Medical Doctor by profession polled 755 out of 1,203 valid votes to beat his two contenders, Wakefield Ackuaku who got 411 votes and a fomer Tema Metropolitan Assembly Presiding Member and the Assembly Member for Adjei Kojo Electoral Area, Romeo Elikplim Akahoho also fetching only 37 votes to the surprise of many.
Dr. Tufour said he will to a large extent, and blending it with his campaign strategy rely on the advise of Mr. Ampofo who unprecedentedly matched Naa Torshie Addo in the 2012 Parliamentary elections in Tema West Constituency.
The NDC Chairman he intimated, who has a vast political experience and promising to help any candidate who wins will be his one major source of advise in order to snatch the seat from the New Patriotic Party.
Dr. Tufour said he is lucky to have the campaign manager for Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in 2012 to be his campaign manager.
In a related event, his counterpart, the Tema East NDC Parliamentary candidate elect, Issac Ashai Odamtten on his part promised energised branches and empowered wards, bringing both past and present executives onboard for the purpose of unity and a commonn strong front.
Promising the delegates of his mandate on the confidence reposed in him as their Parliamentary candidate, the immediate past former Tema Mayor gave hope to the Tema East constituents of delivering the seat for the NDC come 2020.
