The La Dadekotopon Muslim Community Chief Imam, Imam Alhaji Ibrahim Leetei Mensah, has reiterated the need for Muslims to let discipline and commitment to the tenets of the Quran be their hallmark.
He also asked them to be faithful to fear Allah and look to the provisions he has made for them in the future.
Addressing Muslims at the forecourt of the La Traditional Council as part of activities to mark Eid-ul-Adha, Imam Alhaji Leetei Mensah urged them to love themselves and avoid hatred among them.
He admonished Muslims to uphold the dignity of Islam which stands for peace urging them to live in peace to promote brotherliness and tolerance between them.
Imam Alhaji Leetei Mensah who is also the Greater Accra Regional GaDangme Tijaniyya Chief Imam Jallo called on Muslim parents to educate their children to stay away from social vices and crimes that will create problem for Islam.
A representative from the La Municipal Assembly, Nii Ashietey Olleenu urged the Muslim community in La to show the way by maintaing good personal hygiene and keeping their surroundings clean, considering the significance placed on cleanliness by Islam.
He emphasized the need for them to take issues relating to sanitation and the safety of the environment more seriously.
Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, which is to offer sacrifices to Allah, gives Muslims the opportunity to ask Allah for forgiveness and renew their commitment to their maker.
The day was marked with Muslim prayers and later climaxed with the sacrifice of cow.
