MCE Swindles Chief Out Of Millions Of Cedis

Information reaching WestAfrica24.com indicates that the Office of the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive , Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, has allegedly tricked an innocent Chief and taken millions of Ghana Cedis in the name of the Railway Minister, Joe Ghartey.

Speaking in an interview with WestAfrica24.com, the Chief of Kpobiman, Nii Tetteh Mensah Kootse I, confirmed that the MCE came to deceive him, taking an amount of 250 million Cedis from him in the name of Mr. Joe Ghartey, the Railway Minister.

Nii Tetteh Mensah Kootse I, explained that in an agreement document signed by the two parties, Mr. Wilkinson appeared representing the Minister, so he managed Joe Ghartey’s name did not appear in the document.

Nii Kootse I said the MCE has still not repaid the money, months after the agreement date elapsed. He said the Railway Minister also told him, Nii Tetteh Mensah Kootse I, that he has not asked Nii Lamptey Wilkinson to collect any money for him whatsoever.

The helpless Kpobiman Mantse told this portal on the sideline of the Homowo celebration of the town, that he has done all he can but the Ga West MCE is refusing to refund his 250 million Cedis loan.

Nii Tetteh Mensah Kootse I, indicated that Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, MCE for Ga West, has never made efforts to show concern about how long the money has been with him.

According to him, despite interventions and extentions of time, the Ga West MCE, Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson has not shown interest of refunding the money.

WestAfrica24.com further gathered that next month, Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson will be contesting for the NPP Parliamentary Candidacy primaries in the Ga West Municipality where he wants to represent the people of the area in parliament.

The uhappy Kpobiman Mantse, stated that “I won’t ask him for the money again, if he finds the need to pay me fine; if he doesn’t so be it”.
