NDC officials have assured Ghanaians of restoring July, 1st as republic holiday when they take over in 2021.


WestAfrica24.com has laid hands on a press release from the main opposition party, NDC’s director of communications.

The former chairman of the board of directors of BOST and current Director of communications of the NDC, Kakra Essamuah has issued a press release dates July, 1st assuring Ghanaians of restoring the observation of 1st July as a republic holiday in Ghana when they get to office in January, 2021.

Kakra also accused the Akuffo Addo led administration for re-writting the history of Ghana in order to project his clan and family as the heroes of the nation.

The decision by the government of the day to scrap the July, 1st holiday met several critisms particularly from the main opposition party, NDC. Despite all the talkings and critisms, the government had ceased to recognised 1st July as a public holiday in Ghana.
