Ahead of the August 24 NDC Parliamentary Primaries, delegates in about six out of ten wards in La Dadekotopon Constituency have declared to go with Hon. former MCE, Rita Odoley Sowah.
They also indicated Odoley Sowah could consolidate her massive achievement as the former MCE for La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly when elected PC than her contenders.
Six wards and still counting indicated that they are now convinced to go with Hon Rita Odoley as their Parliamentary Candidate (PC) because she has appealing messages as compared to her three opponents.
Most of the delegates who spoke with Westafrica24.com, explained further that Hon. Odoley Sowah has practical messages that her three male contenders lack, she is precise and consistent with her messages and could even attract floating voters, hence, she stands the tallest.
This, they hinted she is the right and credible person they think must lead them though a few people are trying to tarnish her image despite her good records for all to see.
At the recent inaugural ceremony of the NDC Women Working Committees at La, the delegates there were also fully convinced that Odoley should be the right PC for 2020 general elections.
Present at the programme were Odoley Sowah, who was ranked best MCE in the Greater Accra Region, Fifi Kommey and Jake Kwei Adjei-Kwei, former Constituency Organiser, were three of the four aspirants.
When the aspirants took their turns to address the delegates, the only woman, Hon. Odoley dazzled amongst her contenders to the admiration of the gathering.
The former La MCE informed the gathering that whatever activities women are involved, especially in this political/democratic dispensation, they do their best to ensure it benefit many people.
She has a foundation that carters for People With Disabilities, PWDs, in the community including fees; she provides skills’ training to women and girls in soap making, Bartik, tire and dye as well as interest free loans to women.
She promised to continue and improve on what she used to do during her term in office as MCE, like helping to improve educational standards of the area, and to take sporting activities in La seriously because some youth approached her to know what she has for them.
“I could see that the burning desire for sports in La youth is too high, and therefore, it’s my payer that when God permits and I sail through to Parliament, that sector will see me a lot,” she promised.
She reiterated that education, skills training, support for market women, youth in sports are something that when tackled could help a lot among others and she won’t relent on her efforts to help.
She also prays for a peaceful primaries, unity and she appeals to her contenders to also preach peace and unity since the NDC needs everyone going into elections 2020 and to take back La seat.
