NDC suspends political activities in Ashaiman to mourn departed aspirant.

The mainstream media not so long ago reported the sudden death of an NDC parliamentary aspirant in the Ashaiman.

The aspirant, known as Emmanuel Maxwel Voyee reportedly died of Kidney few days after filling for normination to partake in the NDC upcoming parliamentary primaries.

To mourn the fallen comrade, the party leadership suspended party political activities in the constituency as a sign of respect to the late Emmanuel.

Earlier, party officials including the national chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo stormed the family house of the deceased to register their condolences to the bereaved family.

In a statement released and sighted by WestAfrica24.com, the party will after the observation of one week celebration of the fallen comrade will issue directive as to when the suspension comes over.

SUSPENSION OF POLITICAL CAMPAIGN IN ASHAIMAN CONSTITUENCY

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the leadership of the National Democratic Congress learnt of the untimely passing away of an aspirant in the Parliamentary primaries in the Ashaiman Constituency on Monday, 5th August, 2019.

Comrade Emmanuel Max-Voy, also known as Martin Luther, was a resourceful and loyal member of the party who was poised to take part in the upcoming primaries, and even though he did not appear in good health during the vetting, he sailed through the process successfully. Little did we know that the Lord Almighty would call him to a higher service so soon in the prime of his life.

Today, the 7th day of August, 2019, the party leadership, led by the National Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo, paid a visit to the bereaved family to commiserate with them and to encourage party faithfuls to stand firm even as we mourn our fallen comrade.

And as a mark of respect towards the fallen Comrade, the National Chairman has directed that until the one week celebration of the passing away of Martin Luther which is scheduled to come off next week Monday, 12th August, 2019, no campaigning, nor any political activity involving the National Democratic Congress, should take place in the Constituency.

The National, Regional and Constituency leadership of the party will hold consultations and soon after the one week celebration, further directives will be issued.
