Prince Appiah Debrah Elected Parliamentary Candidate For Korle-Klottey

New Patriotic delegates in the Klottey Korle Constituency, have endorsed Lawyer Prince Appiah Derbrah, as NPP candidate to challenge current Member of Parliament for the area, Zenator Agyemang Rawlings in the 2020 general elections.

Mr. Derbrah defeated his opponent, Harry Kwatekwei Quartey in the party’s Parliamentary primaries with 511 votes, with Mr. Quartey managing to obtain only 300 votes.

Out of a total of 901 delegates expected to cast their votes, only 814 people managed to do so.

The elections was generally peaceful, free and fair ant the atmosphere at the venue after votes were counted was charged as support of various candidates were seen either jubilating or leaving the premise with a very calm demeanour.

Defeated candidate, Harry Kwatekwei Quartey congratulated his opponent and called for support for him.

Mr. Derbrah on his part was thankful to delegates and called on all supporters to come together to ensure victory in 2020 adding that; delegates voted for him based on merit and competence.

The NPP held Parliamentary primaries in ‘orphan’ constituencies on Saturday, September 28 in good time for the 2020 elections.

‘Orphan’ constituencies are those whose seats are held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The party has scheduled January 2020 to hold primaries for its main seats.
