RE: Alleged Arrest Of The Chief of Opah
The attention of the Chiefs and people of Opah Traditional Area in the Ga West Municipality
has been drawn to a purported publication in sections of the print media on August 22, 2019 which a 30 year old man, who was arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command for violence land guard activities and attempted murder was erroneously described as the Chief of Opah.
This rejoinder seeks to clarify issues misrepresented by the publications and the false assertion meant to discredit my integrity.
This was issued and signed the the Chief of the Opah Traditional Area, Nii Ayitey Okuansuro I.
The rejoinder said the Chiefs and the people of the Opah Traditional Area emphatically states that the suspect Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, alias Benzali Zola a resident of Dodoo Obliman a nearby village is not the Chief of Opah as indicated in sections of the print media publication.
Nii Ayitey Okuansuro I, 74 years of age, and a retired Assistant Director of Education is the legitimate and gazetted Chief of Opah Traditional Area near Amasaman. He is a well-known, respectable and distinguished personality in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region.
Furthermore, the Ga West Municipal Police Division that conducted the arrest of the suspect Bezali Zola and his group of land guards near Opah can confirm that the suspect is not revered Chief of Opah.
It further stated that it is strange and curious how the reports could describe suspect Nii Ayitey Anumle alias Bezali Zola as the Chief of Opah.
He called on the media houses that carried out the publications to correct and rectify the anomaly and the public embarrassment caused by the publications and urged them to retract it.
