Traders at Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region on Friday morning staged a protest against the Municipal Chief Executive Officer, MCE, Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson following a demolation exercise carried out by the Assembly.
The angry traders clad in in red blocked Accra-Nsawam Highway to register their displeasure against the MCE.
The traders accused the MCE of championing the demolition exercise which according to them they have lost thousands of cedis as a result of the demolition exercise.
Some of the traders claimed they were not informed before the demolition exercise was carried out. They added that Police Officers numbering about 30 were at the scene after blocking the road.
Speaking with WestAfrica24.com, leader of the disgranted traders, Stephen Adu Adjei, gave the President Akufo-Addo a seven-day ultimatum to remove the MCE out from officer or they will be forced to remove him out from office.
When WestAfrica24.com contacted the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, he denied the claims that he was behind the demolition exercise carried out.
