Police in US state of Massachusetts have arrested two UK based Ghanaians for possessing firearms illegally.
Police in US state of Massachusetts have arrested two UK based Ghanaians for possessing firearms illegally.
The young men identified as Ernest Appiah, 26, and Philip Mintah, 31, were arrested by a 2015 Mercedes that had been crashed into a nearby woods.
According to reports, the men were seen standing by the car and screaming at passerbys who had stopped to assist them.
Neither man admitted being the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The police were called to the scene after a single round of ammunition on the passenger side floor was found.
A 9mm Springfield XD was discovered shortly after the search began.
After checks, it was discovered that neither of them was licensed to carry a firearm.
After being placed under arrest, a small amount of cocaine was discovered in Mintah’s pocket.
Both men were charged with possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card and witness intimidation.
Mintah who was found with small amount of cocain the the pocket was also charged with possession of a class B substance.
