Woman arrested for stealing dried snake from a shop in Lagos.


A report that WestAfrica24.com can confirm has it that an incidence happened at a popular Igando Market in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos, Nigeria.

The report has it that a 34 years old woman sneaked into a shop in The market and stole dried snake and during the course of her escape, she was caught by security.

The Police at Igando Division has alleged that the suspect, Ayomide, broke into the shop at night, stole the dried snake and fish belonging to one Mrs. Morenike Taiwo worth over N360,000 including other undisclosed items.

However, while she was escaping, she was caught by security men, who then handed her over to the Police. The items she allegedly stole were recovered from her as evidence for prosecution but later released to the owner on certain terms.

The woman was charged by Ejigbo Magistrate Court after thorough interrogations were made by the Police. The culprit pleaded not guilty to the crime she was charged for comitting.

Supol Kenneth Asibor, the prosecutor has asked the Court to set a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to the crime. This is to enable the Police to provide enough prove that she really committed the crime.
